Scattered showers creeping back in

Beautiful sunshine has moved back into the region this week, but we are almost to June. That means that summer like weather isn’t too far away.
Friday and Saturday
High pressure remains in place as we head through the day today, keeping things on the sunny side. We may see highs a couple degrees ahead of Thursday, topping out in the middle and upper 70s. Overnight, we’ll see a few clouds try to sneak into the region with our next system on the move, lows are still nice in the lower to middle 50s.
You’ll start to feel the difference as we head into the day on Saturday as we see southerly winds crank back up on the back side high pressure. This will bring more warm air and more moisture back to the region as our next disturbance starts to scoot into the region. That disturbance should encounter our highs in the lower to middle 80s and will start to bubble some showers and storms as we head into the afternoon and evening hours. No widespread severe weather is expected, but rainfall could be heavy at times. Some of these will indeed last past dark, with lows back into the lower 60s.
Sunday, Monday, and Beyond
More showers and storms seem like a good bet with more clouds around as we head into Sunday. Certainly nothing like last weekend, but some rumblers will be possible on Sunday afternoon as this disturbance continues to scoot through the region. Highs top out in the upper 70s to lower 80s yet again. We’ll diminish those shower chances as we head into the overnight, lows are back into the lower 60s.
It’s looking like a very summer-like pattern settling into the region as we head into Monday, with more scattered showers and thunderstorms developing in the heat of the afternoon. Heavy rain will be possible with any one of these as highs make it back into the lower to middle 80s. Overnight lows are in the middle 60s with lows into the middle 60s.
This pattern looks to rinse and repeat (no pun intended) as we head through much of next week, with highs back into the middle and upper 80s and those same scattered showers and storms. June’s first week sure looks like what June is known for, at least at this point.
Don't forget, we've got updates off the website too, on the social media site formerly known as Twitter here. That's where you'll find the latest updates when things get stormy too!
Have a good one!
