Calm conditions continue

After a busy weekend and a return to some mild and calmer weather, we’re finally in for a stretch of nice weather here in the bluegrass!
Wednesday and Thursday
Partly to mostly sunny skies continue throughout the region as our quiet pattern has settled in. While it does look quiet, we may see a shower or two as a weak disturbance tries to scoot into the area. Outside of that, we should still see plenty of sunshine through the afternoon hours. Highs will remain in the middle 70s during the day. Any showers will diminish as we lose the daytime heating past dark. Lows are back into the lower 50s.
High pressure finally settles into the region as we head into the day on Thursday. Expect brilliant sunshine in the region for the afternoon hours. With the dry air we’ve got in place, I would continue to expect excellent afternoon highs making it into the middle 70s throughout the region. Clear skies continue overnight as lows fall back into the upper 40s to near 50º.
Friday through the Weekend
High pressure remains our dominant weather player as we head into the day on Friday. That will continue to provide for afternoon sunshine throughout the Bluegrass. Looks like we’ll improve a few degrees as we head into the afternoon hours, with highs closer to the upper 70s or so. A few clouds will try to filter in as we head into Friday night, with lows back into the lower 50s.
Those are clouds increasing ahead of our next pattern shift, which should bring some scattered showers and storms back to the region. Severe weather really isn’t in the cards, but any storm that pops up could bring some heavy rain with it as disturbances allow storms to pop up along a stalled frontal boundary. Highs are back into the lower 80s as more warmth and moisture work back in. Spotty showers continue overnight with lows back into the lower 60s.
More of the same on Sunday as another disturbance slides into the region providing an opportunity for scattered showers and thunderstorms. No severe weather expected, but potentially heavy rain will be possible. Highs are back into the lower 80s. Showers diminish after dark as lows slink back into the lower 60s or so.
Into Next Week
Our summer like pattern appears to be in good shape as we head through the early and middle parts of next week. We’ll see these little weak disturbances providing us with daily chances for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs each afternoon make a run into the lower to middle 80s, with lower 60s overnight as storms take a break. June weather moving in right on time!
Don't forget, we've got updates off the website too, on the social media site formerly known as Twitter here. That's where you'll find the latest updates when things get stormy too!
Have a good one!
